90-Day Study Plan — From Today to Prelims

If you have ~10 weeks until Prelims (1 August 2026), allocate as follows:

Weeks 1–4: Concept Build (Daily 4 hours)

  • Quant (90 min): Percentages → Profit/Loss → SI/CI → Time-Work → Speed-Distance → DI sets
  • Reasoning (90 min): Puzzles (linear, circular, floor, scheduling) + Seating → Syllogism → Inequality → Data Sufficiency
  • English (60 min): Daily editorial reading (The Hindu / Indian Express) → Cloze test → Para-jumbles → Error spotting

Weeks 5–8: Speed + Sectional Mocks (Daily 5 hours)

  • 1 full Prelims mock every 2 days + 1 sectional test daily
  • Mock analysis: 60 minutes per mock, log every wrong answer in an error notebook
  • Begin Mains-only topics (Banking Awareness, Computer Aptitude) — 30 min daily

Weeks 9–10: Peak & Taper

  • Daily Prelims mock at the 9–10 AM real-exam slot to lock circadian rhythm
  • Revise error notebook + formula sheets, no new topics
  • Last 3 days: half-strength practice + sleep discipline

Section-wise Strategy — Tested by Toppers

Quantitative Aptitude

Target 22–26 attempts with 90%+ accuracy. High-yield topics: Simplification, Number Series, DI (tabular, line, caselet), Quadratic Equation, Arithmetic word problems. Skip first-pass: Probability, complex Mensuration.

Reasoning Ability

Target 25–28 attempts. Puzzles & Seating eat 40% of the Reasoning section in Prelims — get 3 puzzle sets per day. Master Inequality and Syllogism for guaranteed 6–8 marks in 4 minutes.

English Language

Reading Comprehension is the highest-marks block (8–10 Q). Daily editorial habit is non-negotiable. Vocabulary from The Hindu Op-Ed + idioms list. Target 22+ attempts with 85% accuracy.

Mains: Banking Awareness

Cover the last 6 months of banking, RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, monetary policy, Union Budget 2026, Economic Survey, and SBI-specific developments. Static portion: banking terms, types of accounts, NPCI products (UPI, NACH, NETC), priority sector norms, BASEL III.

Common SBI PO Mistakes & Quick Fixes

  1. Skipping sectional cut-offs in Mains. Each section has its own qualifying mark — uneven scoring kills the rank.
  2. Ignoring the Descriptive Test. A 30-mark essay can be the gap between rank 800 and 1,500.
  3. Underestimating typing speed. The Descriptive is typed on-screen — practise at 30+ wpm with backspace discipline.
  4. Last-week mock binging. Burnout kills exam-day stamina. Taper from Day -3.
  5. Skipping Group Exercise prep. GE evaluates structured speaking — practise 5-min current-affairs talks weekly.
